Dann Foley, A Palm Springs, Calif.-based interior and home product designer who frequently works in Chicago, is all for the strategic use of color. "Color is one of the few arenas left to us as consumers to express our personal taste," he says. "In a world of homogeneous retail, where we see the same stores and same products wherever we go, it is more difficult for people to personalize their design. Color is the easiest way to do it, and is also the least expensive because it is easy to change, depending on the material."
