Jan 18, 2014|In The Press

Friends, family, and #Dannfanns,

Wow! What can I say? As Dann’s business partner, biggest #DANNfann, and long time friend, I’m honored to tell you some fabulous news! We have all been really busy here at DANNinc beyond the normal interior design projects across the U.S., Canada, Europe, and even Asia, Dann has been filming a reality television show that will air primetime on NBC with Oprah Winfrey designer, Nate Berkus, Monica Pederson, and NFL running back Eddie George (Yes, I know football too!). Most of you have suspected something and you were right, it’s a really BIG SOMETHING!!!

DANN’s First Interview for American Dream Builders

Dann and I stood outside NBC Universal in front of the Rock Hudson Building over two years ago. This is when he went for his first interview with American Dream Builders (back then the show had a different name and different producers). We both stood firm that this was going to be the ONE! We even took a picture and saved the parking receipt. Many call backs, interviews, psych test, and hostage holdings between then and now, the day is finally here when we can share the news with all of you. I am so proud of Dann for being one of the only original cast selections that made it all the way through the process with multiple production companies. Thank you NBC for loving Dann as much as we all do!

While we have been waiting and building this dream we have been having a blast with our Designer #Dannfanns. We are grateful for each and everyone of you. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing by Dann, supporting us, believing and knowing that this would be a realty. As we watch Dann’s name go up in lights with NBC now, we hope that you will continue to be a part of our lives. We have yet to meet a TSA agent that didn’t swear Dann was already a star! Seriously. And now, it’s happening.

This journey has been with great angst and sacrifice at times for us at DANNinc. as we have had to keep the ball rolling for months without Dann here in our office. Believe me our clients (and you) are wonderful but they want Dann!!! I don’t blame them in the least, my life is a lot easier when Dann is behind the wheel!

Be sure to follow this blog here on by putting your email address in the field that says SUBSCRIBE TO BEHIND THE SCENES WITH DANN, you’ll want to stay posted, trust me!

XO, Beau

P.S. For those of you wondering, I am only Dann’s business partner! We are both single

Here are a few details about the show: NBC and Nate Berkus are partnering for an ambitious home makeover competition show that will explore beautiful and functional “magazine-worthy” design of the highest caliber.

In each episode – audiences will see TWO sweeping renovations that were done over several days – bringing the homes from ordinary to extraordinary. Also in each episode, the designers will tackle a new “challenge” while they renovate and re-design a project. These challenges will sound familiar to homeowners everywhere and will include desperately-needed updates and how to make the most of the available space.

The contestants are asked to deal with a wide range of home styles. They will be asked to bring about the ultimate home transformation while remaining true to each home’s innate charm, history and design characteristics. Each unique space tells its own story and represents a specific architectural style – whether vintage Victorian, the best in mid-century design, classic English Tudor or a new-age modular space.

The show will be as beautiful to look at as it is instructional for the viewer – every episode will provide real takeaway information with solutions to everyday problems.Viewers will be emersed in a fun, sensational and transformative show that will inspire people to make changes in their own homes and Designer DANN is appearing on the show!!!

January 17, 2014 FORMER NFL STAR EDDIE GEORGE AND FAMED INTERIOR DESIGNER MONICA PEDERSEN SET AS JUDGES ON NATE BERKUS-HOSTED ‘AMERICAN DREAM BUILDERS’ Twelve of the Nation’s Top Designers and Builders From Around the Country Compete for Title and $250,000 Cash Prize on NBC’s New Competition Series

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. — Jan. 17, 2014 — Former NFL running back/landscape architect Eddie George and design expert Monica Pedersen have been tapped as judges on NBC’s new one-hour reality-competition series “American Dream Builders.”

The series, which premieres Sunday, March 23 at 8 p.m. ET/PT, will have Nate Berkus serve as host, judge and executive producer.

Showcasing the talents of highly accomplished designers and home builders from around the country, “American Dream Builders” will enlist 12 of the most sought-after designers and builders for a high-pressure competition designed to push everyone’s creative reach. Each week the contestants will tackle two massive home-renovation projects, each featuring unique architectural styles that result in jaw-dropping transformations. They will rethink the way we live and create new design that is sure to inspire.

“My goal is for this show to stand for magazine-worthy designs,” said Berkus. “For that to happen, we had to start with a great cast capable of reaching that level of design. They had to be established — a group focused on maintaining their hard-earned reputations. I knew I had to have judges join me that would not only push our talented designers, but push me as well. Eddie and Monica are those judges. They have an opinion and aren’t afraid to share it.”

Well-known for his brilliant football career, George is a Heisman Trophy winner who spent most of his career with the Tennessee Titans. After his playing days, George was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame (Ohio State), and pursued his passion as a landscape architect. He is co-founder of EDGE, a leading landscape architecture firm based in Tennessee and Ohio. With projects ranging from retail and office spaces to college campuses and entire communities, the company currently enjoys regional market expertise across the Midwest and South.

As a designer on more than 90 episodes of HGTV’s hit series “Designed to Sell” and 50 episodes of “Bang for Your Buck,” Pedersen has quickly become a trusted name in design and renovation. The Chicago-based Pedersen, who preaches beauty and function, is also well known for her appearances as an expert on NBC’s “Today” show as well as “HGTV Dream Home,” “House Hunter’s Great Escapes,” the “Steve Harvey Show” and many others.
